About Lisa Daniels
Bio
Lisa Daniels is a dedicated educator, historian, and community advocate with a passion for preserving the stories of unsung heroes. As the Executive Director of the Unsung Heroes Living History Project, a nonprofit organization, Lisa is committed to collecting and preserving narratives of African American veterans, while inspiring youth through documentary and exhibit curation.
In addition to her work with the Unsung Heroes Project, Lisa is a respected Ethnic Studies and Social Justice Studies Professor at Foothill College in Los Altos, California. Her expertise in these fields has shaped countless students' understanding of history and social issues. Lisa is also a skilled news producer, photographer, historian, documentarian, and DJ, demonstrating her versatility and dedication to sharing knowledge through various mediums. Lisa’s journey began with a personal discovery: her grandmother was a Riveter during the 1940s. This revelation sparked a desire to learn more about the contributions of Black individuals in the military, leading to the founding of the Unsung Heroes Living History Project. Through her work, Lisa is dedicated to ensuring that the stories of these unsung heroes are never forgotten and continue to inspire future generations.
